"Seatrout"
Although not as glamorous as some of our other species, the Spotted Seatrout does have its followers. Many anglers have traditionally fish for Seatrout with Shrimp on the flats during high tide. Even though we have them available year around, "Trout" seems to be a winter target. During the colder months this highly adaptable fish can be found in good numbers. The average fish is between 15 to 20 inches and can be found in open flats and deep depressions. Larger fish has become very reliable during the winter where a 4 to 6 pound fish is a good possibility. They can be enticed with artificials lures as well as flies and make a great target for the beginner fly angler. Seatrout can also be a great target for kids due to the good numbers usually found on the schools of Seatrout.
Seatrout fishing can be lots of fun, when it comes to numbers they are the species of choice. So grab your light tackle and be ready for some good action !
Good Fishing,
Capt. Rey
